Te Ara Piko, the pathway along the northern edge of Pauatahanui Inlet, has been selected as a finalist in the Living Streets Aotearoa national awards for “Best Walking Facility”.
The ongoing development of the walkway is a partnership between Plimmerton Rotary and Porirua City Council.
It currently runs from Motukaraka Point to Pauatahanui Village through native salt marshes, wetland habitat and a wildlife reserve. The intention is that it will eventually create a pathway all the way around the inlet.
The winners of the Living Streets Aotearoa awards will be announced in late October.
