Now that the section of Te Ara Piko Pathway through the Kakaho Reserve has been finished, attention has turned to completing the planning and construction for the remaining two sections that will see the Pathway being contiguous from the Pauatahanui Village to the Camborne Walkway.

The next phase of work will connect Motukaraka Point to the new section at Kakaho with Porirua City issuing tenders for this work before Christmas 2017. Plimmerton Rotary has a team working on securing the balance of the funding required for the completion and are very confident of achieving the target funding.

Te Ara Piko Pathway is a major project for both Porirua City and Plimmerton Rotary and, as each section is completed, what might have seemed an impossible dream at inception seems less so. When the Pathway is completed around the Pauatahanui Inlet, Porirua City will have an enviable asset for everyone to use.
